Anyone who's been to college knows how expensive textbooks can be, but the cost may now become more manageable with the growing popularity of ebooks. Amazon.com has now introduced Kindle Textbook Rental, claiming students can save as much as 80 percent off the cost of textbooks by renting them from the Kindle Store instead. Amazon is offering tens of thousands of textbooks, which students can rent for as few as 30 days to as many as 360. Amazon's new service debuts after a similar one from rival Barnes & Noble called eTextbook.
